Cómo instalar Android Studio en Ubuntu y derivados

Logotipo del proyecto ubuntu.Seguimos instalando aplicaciones en el nuevo ordenador con un derivado de ubuntu, en este caso Elementary OS. En este caso vamos a instalar el IDE Android Studio, que es el entorno de desarollo recomendado por Android actualmente.

Desde las distribuciones ubuntu este proceso se realia de una forma realmente sencilla gracias a una herramienta de línea de comandos creada por ubuntu para facilitar la labor de los desarrolladores, ya que este sistema es uno de los preferidos de estos. Inicialmente el proyecto se llamó Ubuntu Developer Tools Center, aunque en las últimas versiones ha pasado a llamarse ubuntu-make.

Inicialmente esta herramienta disponía tan solo de las herramientas Android Studio y Eclipse, pero poco a poco va añadiendo más herramientas, como el editor IntelliJ IDEA (en el que está basado Android Studio), el lenguaje go de Google, el IDE PhpStorm y cada vez más herramientas.

Instalación de ubuntu-make

Lo primero que haremos es instalar ubuntu-make en nuestro sistema con los siguientes pasos

En primer lugar añadimos el ppa de ubuntu-make.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-desktop/ubuntu-make

A continuación actualizamos la información de los repositorios

sudo apt-get update

Y, finalmente, instalamos ubuntu-make

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-make

Con esto ya tenemos la herramienta instalada en nuestro sistema.

Gracias a esta herramienta de ubuntu, la instalación de Android Studio es realmente sencilla. Bastará con escribir en la línes de comandos la orden

umake android

Para que se instale el IDE de forma completa. Nos solicitará la ruta donde instalarse y la aceptación de las condiciones de uso (cuidado porque por defecto no se aceptan, por lo que hay que indicarlo explícitamente).

Con esto ya tenemos nuestro IDE correctamente instalado.
